For many pet owners, the battle against hair is ongoing. It seems that no matter how often you sweep or vacuum, pet hair manages to find its way into every single corner of your home. Fortunately, a company known as Bobsweep has created a futuristic robotic vacuum, known as Bobsweep Robotic Vacuum Cleaner (rouge), which is not only a fun conversation piece, but also a highly functional tool that makes a perfect addition to your arsenal in the war against pet hair.
With Bob, the loving name the company has given to its protégé, you and your pets can relax while the hard work is done for you. Bob is one of the most advanced automated vacuums on the market today, and he works hard without complaint to keep pet hair under control. All you have to do is turn him on and he’ll go to work on hardwood, carpet, laminate, tile, or any other type of flooring you can imagine. He even knows how to keep himself from falling down the stairs.
My Bobsweep Robotic Vacuum Review
I remember the day that I’d had enough when it came to pet hair in my home. My two dogs, as loving and cute as they are, shed all year round. No matter what I would do or how hard I would try, that hair found its way under the bed, behind the couch, along the baseboards, and even in the kitchen – and enough was enough. After a brief internet search, I stumbled across Bob – and I was impressed. After reading through his list of features, I decided that Bob was right for my family. I placed my order, and a few days later, Bob arrived on my doorstep.
When I unpacked him, I remember thinking that there was no way something so small would be able to control the pet hair in my home, but I decided to give him a chance. After all, the manufacturer provides a 60-day money-back guarantee, so I had nothing to lose. I charged his batteries and set him free, and within minutes, I was absolutely amazed. Not only was he incredibly quiet (in fact, I had to check a couple of times to make sure the vacuum was actually turned on), but when he made his way under my bed, I thought he’d choke and die. What I saw blew my mind. I actually got down on all fours and covered my nose with my shirt to protect myself from the incoming hair, but there was no hair. It was gone. Bob had cleaned every single piece of hair from the high-pile carpeting under my bed.
This is when I picked up the phone and called my mother-in-law. I was that impressed. As we spoke, I picked up the box that Bob had called home before arriving at my doorstep and started to read about some of the features. Not only did Bob have a main brush like many other automatic vacuums, but he also had side brushes to pull the hair out of hard-to-reach corners – like the area right up against the baseboard where all of the hair tends to collect. What’s more, because I could change Bob’s settings for different floor types and carpet lengths, he could actually pick the hair up instead of pushing it around.
That’s when it happened. While I was on the phone with my mother-in-law, I looked behind me to find Smokey, my blue heeler (and a shedding disaster), and Bandit, my coonhound (who is also a shedder in the warm months), chasing Bob around the house as he slid under my sofa, chairs, and beds. They were so entertained by their new friend that they got more exercise that day than they had in the previous two weeks. I think Bob and Bandit actually raced each other a few times, but Bob won since Bandit is too big to fit under the bed.
After I finished raving about this miraculous new product I’d received, I went upstairs to my bedroom, got online, and started doing a bit more research. As it turns out, Bob contains no lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, or other substances that are known to be harmful to my family – including my fur babies. I spent about 30 minutes reading about how other robotic vacuums contain these materials, and I decided that Bob was a great investment.
A little while later, I decided to have a little fun. I went back downstairs and set up the automatic charger, and then I put the batteries in Bob’s remote. I pushed the directional buttons on the remote control and, lo and behold, Bob went exactly where I told him to go. I thought about emailing Bobsweep and asking them to create one for my husband! Then, after about an hour or so of playing with Bob and laughing as my dogs chased it relentlessly, something happened. Bob must have decided that he was tired, because he made his way to the automatic charger that was plugged into the wall and took a nap! A few hours later, he was ready to roll once again.
Buy it or not?
In a nutshell, Bob is my new best friend. He is the only tool I’ve ever purchased that actually picks up all of the dog hair around my house, and I don’t even have to push him around. Recently, I made the decision to move him upstairs. While the dogs don’t spend as much time there as they do downstairs, the hair is still a concern since one of my children has allergies and his room must be kept free of hair and dust. Bob has sensors so he knows to stay away from the stairs, he is quiet, he works hard, and he doesn’t ask for an allowance. In fact, I can even attach a mopping attachment to pick up sticky messes my kids leave behind on hardwood and tile. Bob is truly my hero. He cleans up after my dogs, he cleans up after my kids, and he even charges himself when he needs it. Unlike my kids and dogs who create disasters when I leave them for a few seconds unattended, Bob silently cleans up after them and never asks for anything in return.
After hearing all about Bob, my mother-in-law mentioned her iRobot Roomba 630 Vacuum Cleaning Robot For Pets (to read my review just click the link). She told me she’d had it for a while, and she really wanted me to give it a try. The next day, she brought her Roomba over, and I must admit that I was impressed.
